| On-line marketing initiatives and new website - all paving the way for what is anticipated to be the biggest and best Clonmel Junction Festival to date. (can anybody do anything about the weather?)
Do you Twitter? Do you poke or throw a sheep at friends on Facebook. If so, then get on-line and join as a friend of the Clonmel Junction Festival. In these cash-strapped times, with budgets tighter than ever, Junction Festival are embracing all the new fandangled technologies of social networking sites in an effort to increase awareness of the festival. In line with creating profiles on sites such as Bebo, MySpace, Photobucket, Blogspot, Facebook and Twitter, the festival have also launched their new website for 2009. This incorporates the new logo and branding that was introduced last year. The new website is a complete revitalisation of its former self with a intuitive menu for easy navigation, and the colourful and fresh layout reflecting the vibrancy of the festival. New features on the site include a day-by-day festival calendar to help you organise your festival attendance for every day of the 2009 festival, an easily useable search facility to find events by genre, and an all new breaking news section. Direct links to the social networking sites can be found on the bottom right hand corner. Updates will be posted on the site as they happen, so be sure to log on and join our online mailing list to find out about the programme launch, updates on this year’s Participation Programme, and maybe even some leaks about what may be appearing in this year’s festival! If you want to become a patron or sponsor of the festival, information is provided here, and the website will also list all of our very generous supporters. Or perhaps you would like to become a volunteer? Application forms can be downloaded online. Last year, Clonmel Junction Fesitval website attracted more than 30,000 visitors, and we hope to increase that number significantly this year. The website was designed by Little Seal, a design company based in Dublin, and was developed by Tipperary’s own Storm Web.
