Waterford Spraoi bring their latest creation PRISM to Clonmel for In The Open Clonmel
In the Open | Faoin Spéir is an Arts Council funded programme developed in response to the COVID-19 crisis for 2021 which will see a variety of outdoor arts events taking place in public spaces around Ireland. Co-funded and led by Tipperary County Council
PRISM by Waterford Spraoi will start each evening at 8.30pm with a performance devised in and around the Prism by the Alison Cronin Dance Academy. Performed by senior students from the Alison Cronin Dance Academy, this is a high energy contemporary dance piece. Duration of event is approx. 1 hour.
Award winning street spectacle company Spraoi has created ‘Prism’, a new concept in temporary outdoor performance experiences. This large-scale structure is an artwork in itself which encompasses influences as diverse as architecture and fairground attraction. ‘Prism’ celebrates human ability to see things differently when viewed from different perspectives, just as individual strands of light combine through a prism to produce clear white light. Audiences will be able to stroll through Spraoi’s illuminated ‘Prism’ structure at night and then experience live performances from dance, music, spoken-word, circus with a score composed by King Kong Company's Mark Graham, and featuring the Hunchback Choir
