Encounters with the River Suir: Exhibition Opening & Community Poem Performance

Exhibition Opening and Community Poem Performance

Join us for the official opening of this mixed media exhibition responding to the theme ‘Encounters with the River Suir’ featuring the work of Tipperary artists Annie Hogg, Marine Kearney and Shay Hurley and curated by Iris Vos. Also featuring a performance of a community poem following poet Eileen Acheson’s engagement with the Suir Dragon Paddlers, a group of inspirational breast cancer survivors and their support team. Focusing on the theme ‘Encounters’, Eileen and the group looked at the therapeutic aspect of paddling and what they have encountered through their journeys both on the water and in life. Together they produced a collaborative poem that will be presented and performed during the festival.
