Clonmel Junction Arts Festival 2025 takes place across a rich tapestry of historic, cultural, and contemporary spaces throughout the town. From the vibrant Kickham Plaza to the intimate STAC Chapel, our venues are as diverse as the programme itself, each one offering a unique atmosphere for performance, reflection, and connection.

Old St Mary’s Church

Old St. Mary's Church

A beautiful location with excellent acoustics and with seating for 250+, Old St Mary’s is the largest venue for concerts in Clonmel. Old St. Mary’s Church in Clonmel, County Tipperary, is a historical Church of Ireland church believed to have been founded in 1204 by William de Burgo.

IMC Cinema

IMC Cinema

IMC is Irelands number 1 multiplex cinema chain. Here they have screens which show movies in 3D, Digital, Theatre and Opera. A partner of the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival for years and a proud host of the TUS Film and Animation showings.

Main Guard

Main Guard, Clonmel

A beautiful historic building owned by the OPW, the Main Guard has been used for exhibitions, concerts and Spoken Word events in the past (upstairs) and for concerts downstairs.

Clonmel Library

Clonmel Library

With a large cohort of local writers and a committed audience for literary events, Clonmel Library has a long-standing history of working with CJAF to schedule writers to give talks and workshops during the festival in response to the year’s theme. CJAF also works together with the library to schedule an exhibition in the library during the festival – a large, light space ideal for a small to medium exhibition. It is located across the square from the Museum of Hidden History.

Tipperary Museum of Hidden History

A state-of-the-art facility, the Museum of Hidden History is another long-standing partner of CJAF, working together successfully for a number of years to programme creative events in response to the museum’s remarkable and extensive collection. It is located across the square from Clonmel Library.

Baker’s Bar

Baker's Bar, Clonmel

Bakers Bar is a bar and live music venue in the heart of Clonmel. It’s a hot spot for loads of gigs and concerts in Clonmel and supports local artists here in Tipperary.

South Tipperary Arts Centre (STAC)

Old St. Mary's Church

Located in central Clonmel, STAC, is a long-standing partner of CJAF and the venue for our joint-annual exhibitions. Arts Centre in Clonmel was founded over 20 years ago to be a focal point for the arts in Clonmel and County Tipperary. The arts centre is situated in a beautiful, light-filled Modernist building near the River Suir on Nelson Street. The building houses a gallery and a spacious workshop.

Kickham Plaza

Kickham Plaza, Clonmel

The late 18th century former military site – Kickham barracks. The disbanded barracks that had been left vacant for over a decade now witnesses the emergence of an impressive educational, cultural, and civic quarter, marked by the new Kickham Plaza.

STAC Chapel

STAC Chapel

STAC Chapel was launched in Spring 2023 as an additional space for South Tipperary Arts Centre and allows an expansion in the range of arts programming on offer to audiences. Located on Kickham Plaza, in the former Barracks Chapel, STAC Chapel is a multi use space which will host a diversity of practices and events across visual arts, film, music, dance and theatre, among others.

Showgrounds Shopping Centre

Old St. Mary's Church

Our offices and Box Office are situated in an empty unit named ‘The Platform’ in the Showgrounds. We also have access to the old ‘Name It’ unit where we hold the 100 Dogs Workshop and the unit that held ‘Iceland’ which we will use for the Vincent Hanley Summer School.

Denis Burke Park

Denis Burke Park

The Denis Burke Park in Clonmel is a redesigned park on the outskirts of Clonmel. The park commemorates Mayor Denis Burke who successfully operated the bacon factory here in town. The park is an open space with seating areas, a children’s playground, and a lot of room for different activities.

This venue is wheelchair accessible. There are no public toilets available on site.

O'Connell Street, Clonmel

O’Connell Street in Clonmel is a significant thoroughfare with historical and architectural importance, serving as a key commercial and residential area within the town. It is known for landmarks like the West Gate and the Main Guard which lay on either side of the street.
